Czech driver Filip Bartoš returns for third NXT Gen Cup season

Filip Bartoš has been confirmed for NXT Gen Cup in 2025. The 17‑year‑old Czech talent joins an exclusive group of drivers who have competed in every season since the all‑electric junior touring car championship launched in 2023.

For Bartoš, NXT Gen Cup marked his first step from karting into car racing in 2023. His progression over the past two seasons has been steady—finishing 18th overall in his rookie year before climbing to 10th in the 2024 standings, which included a standout fourth‑place finish at Norisring.

Now entering his third season, Bartoš is aiming to take another step forward and establish himself as a regular contender at the sharp end of the grid.

“I’m really excited to be back for a third year. I’m hoping to build on everything I’ve learned so far. NXT Gen Cup always attracts strong, talented drivers—and that creates some incredible on‑track battles. With margins often down to tenths of a second, there’s constant action. That’s why I keep coming back with the same enthusiasm,” said Filip Bartoš.

Bartoš’s return is a welcome addition to the series—bringing value both on and off the track.

“Filip was one of the first drivers to sign with us ahead of the 2023 season, and we truly consider him part of the NXT Gen Cup family,” said Fredrik Lestrup, Founder and Series Manager of NXT Gen Cup. “He has made a strong mark on the series—not only through his performances on track, but also through his presence in the paddock. We’re very happy to have him back this year, and we look forward to continuing our work together and seeing him take the next step in his development.”

NXT Gen Cup races alongside DTM—kicking off a thrilling championship schedule at Oschersleben, 25–27 April. All races will be broadcast LIVE on YouTube.

The series races together with DTM and is organised through an “arrive and drive” concept, enabling the junior drivers to focus on driving and creating the foundation for a professional racing career.
