NXT Gen Cup educates and inspires at FIA Girls on Track During the Hankook Berlin E-Prix

Fresh off a spectacular weekend at the Norisring along with DTM, featuring three nail-biting races in front of 112,000 spectators, the NXT Gen Cup heads straight to Berlin for the next step in its mission to educate and inspire the next generation of motorsport talent.

As part of the FIA Girls on Track programme during the Hankook Berlin E-Prix, NXT Gen Cup will host one of six official workshops on Friday, July 11, welcoming 120 girls aged 12–18 for an engaging and motivational session focused on career paths and opportunities in motorsport.

The workshop will be led by NXT Gen Cup founder and series manager Fredrik Lestrup, who brings decades of experience as both a professional driver and team owner. From competing across the globe to building a racing team and launching an all-electric championship, Fredrik will share key insights into the challenges, opportunities, and business of modern motorsport.

“We are honoured to be part of FIA Girls on Track during the Hankook Berlin E-Prix. It’s important to show young people, especially young girls, that there are many paths into motorsport. I’ll be sharing some of the lessons I’ve learned through my career: from international racing, to building long-term partnerships, to founding a team and launching the NXT Gen Cup. Our goal is to inspire the next generation in motorsport,” said Fredrik Lestrup, Series Manager & Founder, NXT Gen Cup

In addition to the workshop, NXT Gen Cup will be present throughout the weekend in the Formula E Fan Village within the FIA Girls on Track area. The all-electric LRT NXT1 race car, used in the series, will be on display, and series representatives will be on site to talk with fans and visitors about the car, the championship and the path it offers for future drivers.

Through initiatives like this, NXT Gen Cup continues to play an active role in creating a more inclusive, sustainable and forward-thinking motorsport world.

The series races together with DTM and is organised through an “arrive and drive” concept, enabling the junior drivers to focus on driving and creating the foundation for a professional racing career.
