Endurance racer Finn Mache set for NXT Gen Cup debut at Sachsenring finale

19-year-old ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie driver Finn Mache will complete the 18-car grid for the final showdown of the 2025 NXT Gen Cup season at the legendary Sachsenring this weekend.

Mache’s racing career began in karting before stepping up to touring cars in 2019. In 2022–23, he made his international debut in the Scottish Mini Cooper Cup, scoring rookie podiums in his first season and two overall podiums in his second season.

In 2024, Mache returned to Germany to compete in TCR, before switching focus in 2025 to endurance racing in the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie – highlighted by a class podium finish in the Nürburgring 24 Hours in June.

Mache’s NXT Gen Cup debut has been long awaited, and will come during a milestone weekend as he turns 20 years old during the Sachsenring finale.

– Racing is my life. I work three jobs – as a car detailer, kart mechanic and racing driver – and I spend more nights in hotels than at home. Getting the chance to race in NXT Gen Cup is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and what better time than at the season finale, said Finn Mache.

– We have been following Finn for the last couple of years and even tried to make something happen already last season. That’s why we are especially happy to finally see him on track in our 100% electric touring car, said Fredrik Lestrup, founder and Series Manager of NXT Gen Cup. We are excited to show Finn what our championship is all about – hard and close racing. He has already proven himself as a very quick and competent young driver, and we are convinced that he will fit right in.

The NXT Gen Cup season finale will be held alongside the DTM at Sachsenring and will feature a packed schedule of four sprint races. The weekend begins on Friday with two test sessions, followed by qualifying and races on both Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifying sessions and races will be streamed LIVE on YouTube, complete with expert commentary and behind-the-scenes insights.

About NXT Gen Cup
The NXT Gen Cup is the world’s first 100% electric junior touring car cup where young female and male drivers race the LRT NXT1, a fully electric race car based on the MINI Cooper SE road car - engineered and built by Lestrup Racing Team. The series races together with DTM and is organised through an “arrive and drive” concept, enabling the junior drivers to focus on driving and creating the foundation for a professional racing career.

About DTM
DTM is Europe’s premier and best-known racing series and celebrated its 40th birthday in 2024. As one of the most competitive racing series, DTM features seven prestigious brands in its anniversary season. The DTM has a German core, but a strong international fan base. Races are broadcasted live in 150 territories. The series is also a leader in sustainable motorsport. For the second season, all cars are powered by a sustainable fuel made of 50% renewable components. Not only the cars racing in DTM are in the centre of sustainable projects. For the events itself the ADAC as promoter of the DTM offers innovations like an initiative to reduce plastic waste and a digital carpool solution, which has been recognised and awarded by the FIA.
